Summer heat cramping your golf game?

X

With the official start of Summer underway, we are experiencing record breaking temperatures. Summer heat can be wonderful when you’re laying out on the beach or taking a dip in the pool, but while you are on the golf course, it can hinder your swing. Instead of fantasizing about a swim in a cool ice bath, or worse, skipping out on your tee-time, follow our simple steps on how to stay cool on the golf course during this summer season!

Here are 8 effortless ways to stay COOL while you swing!

1. Bring extra towels or a specially-designed cooling towel

Soak your towel in water before booking your tee time for an extra cool-off during your round of golf. Placing a cool towel on your neck automatically lowers your body temperature, allowing you to focus on that awesome putt you are about to make. Learn more here.

2. Stay hydrated

Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to cool down. However, once you feel thirsty your body is automatically telling you it is dehydrated. Having a frozen water bottle to keep you cool during a hot summer day is perfect! Whether you let it melt for a refreshing sip later on, or use it as an ice pack for your cooler, it is an immediate refreshment to cool you off. Gatorade and Powerade are essential during the summer season to refresh and refuel. Make sure to pick up a couple before starting 18-holes for the perfect pick-me-up on a hot day.

3. Bring extra gloves

During your sweltering summer days, it is easy for your hands to get a little extra moisture. Missing a shot because of a loose grip is easily prevented with an extra set of gloves. Keep an extra set in your bag and when you finish your first 9 holes, grab the next pair and slide them on for a new grip! Learn more from this article in Golf Digest.

4. Wear light-colored clothes

We know you’ve been working out in the gym, but leave the tight-fitting clothes at home. Be sure to wear something light and loose during your summer swing practice. Light colors tend to stay cooler in the sun as well. Stay clear of black and you’ll be surprised how much your body temperature automatically cools off!

5. Bring sunscreen

Sunscreen is filled with Aloe Vera which cools and hydrates your skin! Make sure you load up on the protectant to not only prevent a burn, but to keep cool as well! Learn more via the tips in this article.

6. Play an early tee time

Have you seen our daily tee time specials? We offer early bird savings that you won’t want to miss out on! Plus, starting early keeps you cool in the hot summer sun. Book your tee time now!

7. Use an umbrella for shade

Whether you want to use the umbrella to protect you against the sun or keep it up for some shade, it helps block out some of the direct heat you can find on the greens. Keep one in your bag just in case for warm weather or the occasional summer shower.

8. There’s nothing cooler than a low score

What better way of getting out of the heat faster than keeping a low score during your game? Didn’t get the score you were looking for? Don’t worry: You can try again next time. After all, practice makes perfect! Learn more by reading this article.
